Now this one was my favorite till recently. I planned this one for many years (well for the 4 it took her to get to her 5th birthday). I even had some of the pages pre designed and had to take photos to go in them. I must say I did get a little carried away is this years adventure needed two large 3" binders. But it was Seusstastical. Welcome to Book 1 and Book 2. An Annual Auntie week built around Dr. Seuss Books. Each book led us to a fabulous activity and some creative scrapbook pages. This page was used as the table of contents. I need to update the picture from the finished book but here's the pic before it was finished. Each page later got a Dr. Seuss tag with a page number. Here's the book in full minus the page numbers I added that after the photographs. Lot's of new techniques in this book.

I gave up on the digital templates and went back to scissors and glue. Still missing some of today's key design elements but I do like them better than the year before. I like that I started adding typed and printed wording. I don't like the lack of cropping. As I discovered in later books cropping makes a world of difference. I also got a cricut and started dabbling in fonts and some decorative designs. In these two books I uses a digital scrapbook template for 8x11 pages and combined them with other photos to make a 12 x12 page. Looking back, I think it improved on the printed digital pages but glad I went back to scrapping. You will see in my current years a much more creative and elegant look to the pages. These books were simple to make and will still be wonderful memories for my niece but looking back at these books there is so much I would do differently today. Year 3 & 4 scrapbooking took a turn to digital. Corel software scrapbooking layouts.
This second scrapbook showcases Annual Auntie Week #2 for Brooke but no new techniques. A little added journalling and a bit of a story line but all in all my books back then had a long way to go. This third book is still a far cry from where I am now I did add a few new techniques to my paper and glue. As I look back at it a few things I still use though as you look at later books will see an improvement in the journal writing, speech bubbles, gel pen on black paper, and framing vs mounting. |
AuntieI love putting the books together almost as much as the wonderful week with each niece. Archives
