History
One Scrappers Development
My passion for scrapping has truly become an addiction. My favorite books are those created for my niece's and nephew's Annual Auntie Week. Here is a history of my growth and development through those books.
When I first began scrapbooking my technique was far from developed. I began with simple layouts placing pictures, stickers and journal spots randomly on the pages. Looking back I so want to redo the pages, but history is what we all build on. Here are a few of my early pages from my Annual Auntie Week books.
I Look back at these and wonder, what was I thinking? Oh my I can't believe how I cut the photos and just seemed to throw them on the page. Wow I've learned a lot as the years have gone.

I do still like the speech and thought bubbles but most of my photos are now matted and are only cut out for dynamic effect.

For a few years I explored the digital scrapbook medium. My first digital book was all digital using a scrapbook software. (It was back in my windows days, I'm now Mac and sorry I don't recall the name of the software. It was a simple one as I wasn't as tech savvy back then.) I found the all digital just didn't allow for my creative juices to flow and I missed getting my hands on the paper. This led me to try a combination of digital layouts with some good old paper layers, stickers etc.
After playing with that for awhile, I found myself going back to all paper. I had been working on various sizes as well: 8.5"x11", 6"x6" and the now favorite 12"x12".
I finally settled on 12"x12" and have been consistent with that size. Sadly for my sister she now has a scrapbook storage need for all 3 of the kids. As the books have gotten pretty big as well. The first books I feel I really came into my own on were the Dr. Seuss themed Annual Auntie week for my Princes Josie. The creativity was really flowing and it turned into 2 books 12"x12" 3" binders. Well the storage problem began (I chuckle typing that.) [2013]
You can see more of these themed pages under Creative Ideas/Theme Pages/Dr. Seuss
As my layout technique developed I used more embellishments, ribbon is still a favorite. I also began to work through some interactive components. Moveable parts, flip windows, and pop-ups. These are also highlighted on my Weebly in a variety of areas.
While I feel like I have come into my own, with a fairly distinctive scrapping style, I always like to play with and learn new techniques. I've recently been thinking through some ways to add more stamping into my pages. I hope you find some inspiration and enjoyment looking through my weebly.
