I typically do the table of contents and the title page at the end. As this was the book I challenged myself to use new mediums on, I wanted to try texture paste. I made a stencil that would allow me to use the paste to make the islands. I ended up using Nuvo Mousse as it had more shimmer. I inked the blue paper then placed my stencil on it and added the Mousse. I actually had to do it twice as I left out a few islands on the first one. I originally wanted to put the island names by them but it didn't fit well so I ended up with all the islands listed at the bottom. I also used my Nuvo glitter marker for the first time.
With the winter vortex and -50 wind chill I took the time to cozy up in my scrapbook room and work on some pages. My trip to Australia to visit my niece was so amazing. Each page I make takes me back to fond and loving memories of spending time with my sister and niece in an amazing place. The royal Garden was so beautiful. It was early spring and the flowers were in bloom.
Here are a few of the pages. I tried a new large pop-up technique and several interactive pages. Of course I also had to add ribbon, a book is never complete without ribbon.
While prepping pictures for my nephews Annual Auntie Week I did a few pages from a vacation with my sweet hubby. They are simple but I did enjoy making. Hope you enjoy as well.
I've used this technique before with 3 layers for photo matting. I like to use the same or similar color for the first layer then to colors that either contrast or are brighter shades of the same color so it pops. I also used a ribbon with a metal charm to add a little bling. Hope it inspires.
I rearranged my Weebly this week in hopes that it will be easier to navigate. I also added a few new designs. Hope you enjoy.
The plan was to mat on a second bright color but when I payed them on the background page I decided the light color enhanced it more than the bright ones so I left the photos with a single mat.
